For Authors
Submission Guidelines
Authors submitting to the Journal of Intelligent Systems and AI Research (JISAR) must ensure that their manuscript represents original work that has neither been published previously in substantially the same form nor is currently under consideration elsewhere.
All submissions must be written in clear, concise English. Manuscripts must follow standard scientific reporting conventions and include all necessary code and data availability statements, where applicable.
All co-authors must approve the final version of the manuscript before submission. Authors must disclose relevant funding sources, conflicts of interest, and ethical approvals where applicable. Submissions should fit the journal’s Aims and Scope and demonstrate a clear scientific contribution to artificial intelligence or intelligent systems.
Research articles must be submitted in .docx format using the official Article Template. Conference abstracts must use the separate Conference Abstract Template and follow the requirements of the relevant conference announcement.
Article Preparation
- Length: Research articles should typically range between 6,000 and 12,000 words, including figures, tables, and reference lists. This range is provisional and requires confirmation by the Editorial Board.
- Format: Manuscripts should be submitted in
.docxformat following the official Article Template. Authors should replace all instructional text and placeholders before submission. - Structure: A standard research article should contain an Abstract (200–300 words), Keywords (4–6 terms), Introduction, Related Work, Methodology, Experimental Setup and Results, Discussion, and Conclusion. Relevant declarations and References should follow the main text.
- Figures and tables: Figures and tables must be numbered consistently, cited in the text, and supplied with clear captions or titles. All visual materials must be legible and relevant to the discussion.
- Research materials: Authors should describe their methodology and evaluation sufficiently clearly to allow critical assessment of the findings. Data and code availability statements should be included where applicable.
- References: Reference citations must use IEEE numeric style. Sources should be cited in square brackets in order of first appearance. Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) should be included for cited literature where available.
- Declarations: Funding, conflicts of interest, author contributions, acknowledgments, and research ethics statements must be included where applicable.
Conference Abstracts
Extended abstracts submitted for affiliated conferences must adhere to the following specifications:
- Maximum length of four pages, including references. Approximately 2,000 words may be used as a guide, but the four-page limit takes precedence.
- Must utilize the dedicated Conference Abstract Template in
.docxformat. - Should clearly articulate the research problem, objective, methodology, key results or preliminary findings, and the significance of the contribution.
- Must include the title, author names, affiliations, and 3–5 keywords.
- References, when included, should follow IEEE numeric style.
Conference abstracts are accepted only for conferences organized by or formally affiliated with JISAR. Authors must also follow any additional requirements and deadlines stated in the individual conference announcement.

Peer Review
JISAR plans to operate a rigorous single-blind peer-review process. Each research article is evaluated by at least two independent expert reviewers selected by the Associate Editor according to their domain expertise.
Initial screening is performed by the Editor-in-Chief or a designated editor to verify scope relevance, completeness, and basic compliance with the submission requirements. Manuscripts that pass screening are assigned for external review.
The review period is expected to take approximately 6 to 8 weeks from submission to the initial decision. This is an indicative estimate and is not guaranteed; actual timelines may vary depending on reviewer availability and the complexity of the manuscript.
Editorial decisions may include acceptance, revision, or rejection. Conference abstracts and special issue contributions may follow additional procedures described in the relevant announcement.
Publication Ethics
JISAR aims to follow recognized standards of publication ethics, including relevant guidance from the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, misleading image manipulation, and duplicate submissions are prohibited and may result in rejection following editorial assessment.
Authors must ensure that all sources are appropriately cited and that permissions are obtained for third-party material where required. Relevant financial, institutional, or personal conflicts of interest must be disclosed. Research involving human participants, personal data, or other ethically sensitive material must comply with applicable ethical requirements.
Authors remain responsible for the accuracy and integrity of content produced with generative AI tools. AI tools must not be listed as authors. Substantive use of generative AI in preparing manuscript text, analyses, code, or research outputs must be disclosed appropriately.
Authors should provide funding, author contribution, ethics, and data or code availability statements where applicable. Further requirements are described in the journal’s Publication Policies.
